Bullying can be defined as the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. Most people consider bullying a behavior confined to childhood or school years, but it is, instead, an occurrence in many other environments, from family to intimate relationships, to workplaces.
With the always wider use of the Internet and its prominent role in our daily lives, bullying has found a fertile field on Social Networks. Cyberbullying takes many forms, such as trolling, bashing, spamming, cyberstalking and gossiping.
The widespreading of such behaviors has luckly coincided with an increased awareness, thanks to the hard work of big and small organizations. It is now easier to talk about being bullied and seek help, finding people who are informed about how to face bullies in every environment.

Our campaigns

October 2015 - Rise against Bullies

As it can take many forms, and can happen in many places, bullying is to many - unfortunately - not an unknown phenomeneon.

Feather of Hope takes a stand to #RiseAgainstBullies.  You can join us by taking the pledge and add Feather of Hope's symbol to your icon. Click here to add the feather to your social network.

Tweet us, writing in your native tongue: I am against bullying. I promise to always stand up to bullies.

We also ask you to use the hashtag we created for this occasion #RiseAgainstBullies. By doing so, everyone who joins will take a stand and show that bullying is not allowed and that we are not afraid to raise our voices. Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.

A feather symbols hope, and for victims of bullying, it is important to not give up and we want to prevent bullying but also want victims of bullying to know that there is a way out. If you are being bullied, please reach out to someone you trust. There is a way out, hang in there, and keep hope.
